Quick introduction for those that are not familiar with what happened: June 2nd 2010, Umpire Jim Joyce ruins Detroit Tigers pitcher Armando Galarraga’s perfect game. This was definitely the biggest blown call we have ever seen. Might even be one of the biggest blown calls in the history of the game. The instant replay was…not really used unfortunately – otherwise it would have changed the situation for sure. Here’s the video of how it went:
Best part about all this is that we get to make fun of it in the end. Just minutes after the game, Jim Joyce’s Wikipedia page looked something like this. If curiosity’s killing you, and you feel like checking up on us, you’re not that lucky. His wiki has been rapidly changed afterward. GG, JJ!
